DCC addresses can be 1-2044. NMRA reserve 2045-2048 for broadcasting to all accessories.

The address range for feedback is divided into two groups

  • Feedback addresses 1 to 64 can be used for storing turnout positions for accessory decoders LS100s. Each LS100 drives 4 turnouts. Each turnout uses 2 feedback bits, and each requires 1 LR101. Accessory decoders with feedback, LS100, are hard mapped into the command station such that turnout addresses 1-256 map into feedback addresses 1-64.
  • Storing information from feedback encoders LR101/100. Each block detector, LB101, has two occupancy detectors and requires 2 feedback bits so 4 LB101 requires 1 LR101.</</li>

LR101 address range is 1 to 128 (1024 devices). There must not be any duplicate use of addresses. It is recommended to start with address 65 for feedback encoder LR101/100 since 1-64 are used by accessory decoders. 65 is the default feedback address.
